Meet our Support Services Team

The co-op's support services team coordinates and manages all billing and bill payments for CCEC, as well as for water service billing for Harkers Island Sanitary District and the Town of Pine Knoll Shores.

Headed up by Vice-president of Support Services Sarah Grider, the team does more than just send out bills and take payments.

Billing Specialist Elizabeth Marvel and Payment Specialist Teresa Mason prepare and process members’ bills, which are mailed in cycles four times a month. They process bank card payments, bank drafts and electronic payments, and review billing for members on our equalizer program to ensure they are neither overpaying nor underpaying.

The Support Services team also manages returned checks and makes any billing adjustments. They set up rates in the billing system. They review electricity usage reports compared to previous months, looking for any wide variances that may need members’ attention.

All of these processes require attention to detail and knowledge of various payment processing hardware and software, our customer information system, rate schedules and more.

Grider also serves as liaison to the Carteret-Craven Electric Foundation. In that role, she manages the financial records and communications, processes grant requests for consideration by the foundation board, submits approved grants for payment, and performs other general administration for the foundation.
